Optimizer apply gradients
Weboptimizer.apply_gradients(zip(gradients, model.trainable_variables)) performs the parameter updates in the model. And that’s it! This is a rough simulation of the classic fit function provided by Keras but notice that we now have the flexibility to control how we want the parameter updates to take place in our model among many other things.

The last time I tried to train the model the first epoch took 13,522 seconds to complete (3.75 hours), however every subsequent epoch took 200 seconds or less to complete.
